Brisbane-based developer Pointcorp has announced plans to create a new mixed-used destination in Fortitude Valley. The new premium development will revitalise a long neglected vacant site at 458 Brunswick Street creating an architecturally designed, visually impressive precinct.
The precinct has been designed by globally renowned architects Cottee Parker, with interiors designed in collaboration with awarded interior designer Blainey North. Creating something visually appealling as well as functional was a key consideration. The built form will feature an iconic architectural facade illuminated at night by Brisbane’s first external facade lighting. Acting as the central showpiece will be the lobby which features a striking design.
Anchoring the project is the InterContinental Hotels Group-owned (IHG) Hotel Indigo Brisbane Fortitude Valley (Hotel Indigo). Featuring 146 boutique rooms, Hotel Indigo will be one of the first in Australia to open when construction is completed in 2020.
Additionally, 30 residential apartments will bring luxury living to the heart of The Valley. The one and two-bedroom premium apartments will feature high-end inclusions and designer finishes. Residents will have full access to all the facilities of Hotel Indigo including its gymnasium, meeting rooms and business centre as well as direct access to the rooftop pool.
The precinct’s 850 square metre rooftop terrace will include a rooftop bar and restaurant that will command views to the CBD skyline and beyond. Combined with the outdoor pool, residents, guests and visitors will have access to an impressive space for rest, recreation and social activity.
Karin Sheppard, Chief Operating Officer Australasia and Japan IHG, believes this will bring a new and vibrant experience to the city. “The Valley is a neighbourhood that’s historical yet shiny and new; traditional but experimental. Hotel Indigo Brisbane Fortitude Valley will bring to life the spirit of this neighbourhood, and celebrate its diverse community.”
Parts of the precinct are slated to open in late 2019.
