Gold Coast builder Coops Construction has started early construction on the first stage of new community in Hope Island Lyra, which will boast high quality town homes alongside some of the final home sites in the suburb to offer bridge free, deep water access.

The first stage of the development will include 21 luxury townhomes and a resort-style recreation precinct, complete with a pool, clubhouse and barbecue terrace, to take shape from April next year. Lyra’s first 15 north-facing waterfront homesites, which will range up to 607 square metres and be made available with private moorings, are expected to be ready to build on by March 2019.

Tendering for the first stage of residential construction will commence in the coming weeks, with a view to hiring a local building company and local contractors. The community will be officially launched to the market in January by experienced developer Changfa, which recently purchased the Lyra development sites from Villa World, with plans to deliver a total of 155 townhomes and 25 homesites in four stages.

Changfa is an international property developer with an annual turnover of more than $2 billion, and Lyra has been chosen as the group’s first community in Australia. Changfa Property Chairman Guirong Huang says Lyra is an appealing debut project because it is special to the Gold Coast market, which continues to be a strong performer. “Firstly, we chose the Gold Coast as our starting point because there is high demand for housing and property values have continued to lift while other cities and regional areas are experiencing a downturn,” he said. “Lyra is unique in that it will offer some of the last remaining homesites in Hope Island with bridge free, deep water access meaning residents can be on the Broadwater within minutes. As a result, we are expecting strong take up from purchasers who want to design their own home with their boat at their back doorstep. We are also appealing to young professionals and families with a mix of three and four bedroom townhomes which will have all of the hallmarks of luxury living, including designer kitchens, timber flooring and a generous alfresco entertaining area.”

Lyra is located a short walk from Hope Island Marketplace, and close to the Hope Island Shopping Centre and golf course.
