Minimalist in nature, this Tennyson property features sharp minimalist features and form. The house in its raw form is a modern adaptation of Queensland’s emerging suburban sub-tropical lifestyle.

Designed by a local architect, the house is a perfect example of spatial planning efficiency, uniqueness and creativity. A striking design with the use of a rooftop heated pool, with glass end, stuns with its presence, greeting passers-by with its sparkling aqua blue glows during the day or night. The geometric nature of the outer shell form maximises the use, with a rooftop deck. This space offers 360 degree views of the suburb, city and Mount Cootha. The initial sharp and harsh minimalist exterior and off form concrete construction has been softened by the use of reconstituted timber cladding, which makes the house surprisingly warm and homely upon closer inspection.

The open plan design brings the breezes and makes the house pleasant all year round. The house is sustainable, low maintenance, solar self-sufficient and smart in its intelligent features, namely wireless air conditioning, showcase lighting, garage doors, door bells, and cameras. Upon arrival a series of voids, bridges, sculptural stairs, introduce the visitor to a totally different dimension of living. Open and a well flowing design elements cleverly lead the viewing eye from one surprising space to another. The house is arranged around a 6 metre high dining living space, with beautiful double storey glazing, and directly opening onto the lawn via two sets of large sliding doors.

Set to entertain the space impresses with its nature and attention to detail, be it the lighting, the artwork or the polished concrete floor, it is purely enchanting. Main circulation through the house is centered on its ever so sculptural dramatic stair, which leads all the way to the rooftop pool. Combined with a 6 metre high pendant, and angular glass balustrades. All bedrooms in the house are discretely placed and set not to interrupt the exciting generous entertainment spaces.

The main bedroom is a very private haven and can easily be turned into a loft with river, city or views of the private interiors. Complimented by a beautiful ensuite and generous walk in robe. The minimalistic feel and dramatic finishes are combined with a balance of raw materials, stone, large format tiles, polished concrete, and mirrors which overwhelmingly enlarge the feel of a spacious home.
